Statement
I started to paint in watercolours only as a means of relaxation.
Completely self taught, the pastime soon became an obsession then a full time occupation.
Having no formal art training has enabled me to develop my own style free from outside or established influences.
I am passionate about my work and hope that I paint from the heart, capturing the mood of the scene In my own style pursuing my artistic vision regardless of fashion trends.
I find inspiration through the changing light and landscape of Britain, in particular I love the landscape of the nearby Peak District, and the not so near Western Isles of Scotland.
I paint using a limited palette and for many years watercolour has been my favoured medium, but I am currently exploring the exciting challenge of producing large landscapes using oils on canvas.
